Myofunctional Therapy

Myofunctional therapy is a specialized, exercise-based treatment that focuses on retraining the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue to function in harmony. It helps correct orofacial myofunctional disorders—patterns like mouth breathing, tongue thrust, or poor lip seal—that can affect breathing, chewing, swallowing, speech, and even sleep quality. Through guided exercises, clients learn to reposition the tongue, strengthen facial muscles, and restore optimal movement patterns. This therapy is particularly beneficial for managing conditions such as sleep-disordered breathing, TMJ dysfunction, and postural issues related to oral habits. By addressing the root causes of these dysfunctions, myofunctional therapy supports long-term wellness and improved quality of life.

Ann offers a distinctive blend of expertise as both a TMJ Physiotherapist and a Myofunctional Therapist, allowing her to assess each client through multiple clinical perspectives. Her integrated approach ensures that no detail is overlooked, whether addressing jaw function, oral posture, or broader musculoskeletal patterns.

To support truly holistic care, Ann collaborates directly with your dentist and other healthcare providers—creating a seamless, team-based plan tailored to your individual needs.
